A first-of-its-kind initiative nationwide! We simultaneously distributed awareness-raising items at 18 locations across Japan to coincide with Awareness Week!

During Gambling Addiction Awareness Week (May 14–20), we conducted street awareness campaigns in 18 prefectures nationwide!
This campaign distributed original awareness-raising items for free on the streets to promote accurate understanding and prevention of gambling addiction.
Background and Purpose of the Campaign
In recent years, the number of consultations regarding online casino addiction has surged dramatically. Cases where individuals become involved in illegal activities such as “underground part-time jobs” due to severe financial hardship continue unabated. An emergency survey conducted by our organization among online casino users revealed that approximately 30% reported “incurring debt within one week of starting,” and about 50% admitted to “having been involved in criminal activities.” This clearly indicates that addiction progresses faster and the harm is more severe compared to traditional gambling.

This awareness campaign aims to provide an opportunity for not only individuals struggling with addiction but also their families and supporters to connect with support services.
