Gambling Addiction Basic Course
Participants will learn how to understand and effectively deal with addiction.
This course is open to family members of those affected, support workers, and the general public.

Lecturers
Dr. Yuzo Aikawa, Director of Dependency Treatment Research, Saitama Psychiatric Center
After graduating from university and working in internal medicine, he worked in the Department of Psychiatry at the National Center for Global Health and Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry at Tokyo Metropolitan Matsuzawa Hospital before joining the Department of Psychiatry at Saitama Psychiatric Center in April 2014, where he currently serves as Director of Addiction Treatment and Research. He specializes in alcohol and drug addiction and is also involved in the treatment of gaming and gambling disorders.
Noriko Tanaka, Representative Director of The Society Concerned about Gambling Addiction
Wife of a third-generation gambler whose grandfather, father, and husband were all addicted gamblers. She is also a recovering gambler and shopaholic. Author of The Story of the Third Gambler’s Wife Koubunken, Gambling Addiction Kadokawa Shinsho, and A Complete Gambling Problem Handling Manual for Families Ask Human Care.
Arrested in 2016 for violation of the Methamphetamine Control Act. He is currently working on raising awareness of addiction issues. Author of “Ikigareta Hito wa Hitori Hito wa Nai (Seishisha)” and “Doryu (Kobunsha).”
Ryo Hashizume, actor.
Debuted as an actor in 2004; arrested in 2017 for violation of the Methamphetamine Control Law; returned to acting in 2022. He is currently working to raise awareness of addiction issues.
