Our Booth at the Miyagi Prefectural Shiogama High School Cultural Festival!

On Saturday, August 29, we set up a gambling addiction awareness booth at the Miyagi Prefectural Shiogama High School cultural festival. Many students and parents stopped by our booth that day, allowing us to spread accurate knowledge about addiction and conduct awareness-raising activities targeted at the younger generation.
-Key Activities:
-Questionnaire: Those who cooperated with the survey were given a copy of the pamphlet “Addiction You Need to Know in Your Teens: Gambling Addiction.”
-Interactive Question Corner: Designed for casual participation, visitors answered questions by placing stickers on a display board.
Throughout the day, we were able to speak directly with many students and parents. Some participating students shared concerns such as, “I’ve been spending money on in-game microtransactions since junior high,” and “I think my parent has a gambling addiction.” Among the parents, some picked up a pamphlet while expressing concern, saying, “Could my son be showing signs, too…?” These interactions deeply reinforced the importance of spreading an accurate understanding of addiction as a close-to-home issue for the younger generation and their families.
Several members of the Shiogama City Council, including Council Member Asano, kindly came to support us. We are deeply grateful for their warm encouragement.
We intend to share the valuable feedback and survey results gathered through this initiative with the school and the Board of Education to help strengthen future preventative education and support.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited our booth, as well as to all the individuals and stakeholders who cooperated and worked tirelessly to make this project possible. We remain committed to promoting public understanding across society and advancing prevention education for the younger generation.
