A Milestone for Families: Launching the Kumamoto Chapter of the National Association of Family of Gambling Addiction
【We extend our heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by the major earthquake in the Kumamoto region.】
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, we held the “Gambling Addiction Seminar Commemorating the Launch of the Kumamoto Chapter of the National Association of Family of Gambling Addiction.”
Approximately 340 people from within and outside Kumamoto Prefecture attended, allowing us to take this significant new step together with many supporters.
With the launch of the Kumamoto Chapter, the National Association of Family of Gambling Addiction—our mutual support partner—has now established chapters in all 47 prefectures across Japan.
Establishing a nationwide support network marks a major milestone in helping individuals suffering from addiction and their families connect with local support services.

They spoke about their journeys toward recovery while facing the hardships of addiction and receiving support from many people and organizations. Their experiences conveyed a powerful message to the audience: “I am who I am today because of the support I received.”
Next, Dr. Shigeto Hiejima, Director of Koyodai Hospital (Medical Corporation Yokota-kai), delivered a lecture.
Drawing on his extensive clinical experience, he discussed the importance of collaboration among support organizations and the vital need for individuals, families, and support staff to maintain their belief in recovery.
