Delivering Corporate Gambling Addiction Prevention Training to the Postmaster of Japan Post

On Friday, September 25, we delivered corporate gambling addiction prevention training to approximately 50 postmasters from Japan Post in the Hokuriku region.
On the day of the event, representatives from our association’s Support Division for Those Affected and members of the National Association of Families of Gambling Addicts took the stage.
Speaking from the perspectives of both those affected and their families, they shared their personal experiences regarding the symptoms of gambling addiction and the challenges faced by both the individuals and their families.
Gambling addiction is a genuine illness that cannot be overcome by the individual’s willpower or effort alone. It often lies at the root of various problems, such as debt and family conflicts. We saw participants listening attentively, nodding along as they followed the presentation.
This initiative served as an opportunity to deepen companies’ understanding of the illness. It also highlighted the importance of not merely responding after problems have surfaced, but rather connecting individuals with necessary support through prevention, early detection, and early intervention.
Our association will continue to promote initiatives aimed at broadening understanding of gambling addiction through awareness campaigns targeting businesses and local communities, with the goal of fostering prevention and early support.
